I just saw my results for Rudolph’s Revenge, and they are better than I thought. Place overall – 101/308 dang – top half on everything, for “distance” running and me that’s pretty darn good! Today was the first of the next year of my life – to celebrate, I planned on running a 5k at the first of the Winter Distance Series, Rudolph’s Revenge. The race was at Chatfield State Park and was well organized. Earlier this week, Hillary and I were laughing about a post that I had read last year about a cyclist on a trainer and his going gangbusters while watching Rudolph on the TV. Saturday started with the annual foray into the cold to pick up our KBCO Studio C cd’s. My pregnant body really wasn’t feeling the love for sitting/standing in the pre-dawn cold for hours on end, so we opted for showing up after the store [...] In the past week, we’ve been a bit busy. Two Saturday’s ago was my last cyclocross race and it was a good family event as well. The weather was great cyclocross weather – ie miserable by most other standards. Lots of snow, grey skies and cold weather. My dad and Hillary’s parents came to the [...] This morning, due to timing issues between a conference call for work, wanting to see my in-laws before they left, getting a morning run in, and needing to be at work for a 1:1 at a specific time – I broke down and decided to drive to work.
