Great race! I was really impressed with how well organized the race was and how well setup/supported it was. I went into the race hoping to run <1hr and also hoping to beat Dave (Hill’s dad). I was thinking I would be able to as two weeks ago at the Barking Dog I had [...] Well, first off, I am sure all of you are waiting to know- I ran the WHOLE race!!!! On Friday, my physical therapist said that I could run but if my hamstring tendon started to hurt even the tiniest little bit, I was to immediately walk the rest of the race. There was no pain [...] I have decided that maybe it is time to share some of my favorite recipes with the world. On the menu for this week, a yummy Asian salad that I came up with. The recipe serves 2 with a little extra for a kiddo to nibble on. Here you go: Grilled Asian Salad Marinated [...] Lately, I have been feeling a little overwhelmed about how much “stuff” we have crammed into our house and I was at the point the I felt the house was going to cave in around me. When I was at my breaking point, my dear friend Sonja was a brilliant ray of light. [...] Our friends, Sonja and Annie, came over today to build wire cages for our tomato plants. Sonja is growing an entire vegetable garden in pots on the balcony of her apartment and has inspired me to give a tomato plant a try. Just so happens, she has the additives I needed for the tomato plant [...] Today, I decided that I’d had enough of the dreadlocks Tana is trying to grow on the back of her head. I took her for her first haircut this morning at Lollilocks. She did really good! She sat in a car and watched Shrek, while she got her hair trimmed. It [...] Today was a good day - I was able to ride my bike to work and take in some great scenery. At lunch I did a ~4.5 mile recovery run at zone 1 heart rate (really slow), and it turned out my pace was the same as my early march 30min time trial effort which [...]
